Star Planet Television was founded in 1986 and produced is first project in 1988; a sit-com called Gold Coast, and the idea was picked up by Western House Cable Which had a syndication arm. in late 1989 while in the Western House Studios fine tuning the program, we were told that Western House was in negotiation with Prime Cable to sell the company and we must wait to see if Prime Cable was interested in continuing the project. After waiting some months we asked to go onto their local station with a talk show; the birth of Straight Talk. 

Straight Talk started in Chicago, Illinois as a local program on the Chicago Cable systems, in June of 1990. The first eighteen (18) months of Straight Talks existence, the host and guest interacted with viewers, via call-ins. that was exciting because for the first time in Chicago, viewers had an opportunity to call a live television talk show and voice their opinion, without fear o being censured or cut-off.

For the next seven months the host interacted with the public by taping on location at various businesses or events such as banquets, festivals, concerts, sporting events and even family and company picnics. This gave Straight Talk a very strong position in the community, with the Politian, Business Leaders, Community Leaders and the People. They all come to learn that Straight Talk was and still is a strong advocate for economic parity, starting with self. America says buy in America; all States ask their citizens to buy in the State and the Cities ask their Citizens to buy in their City. Straight Talk ask African Americans to Buy in their community. All of this creates economic development which include jobs and opportunity . If most of the people in America spent their money outside the country, the job market and the economy would dry up within one year. That is why there are very few jobs and such a small economic base in the African American community; most of their money is spent outside the community. Straight Talk attempts to correct this error in judgment.

The program is built around the host, W. L. Lillard interacting with The current co-host Denise McMullen and one or more guest. The goal of Straight Talk is to provide viewers with straight, honest discussions and insight about the issues that affect the quality of life.

Denise McMullen is a welcome addition to the Straight Talk family, she is a very attractive, bright and articulate young lady who speaks directly to the issues, and the viewers love her, all most as much as we do, so keep your eyes of Denise she is on the fast track to who knows where? She does, and that's the beauty of things, always knows where you are headed and you will know where you are going.  

W. L. Lillard built his own television studio in July of 1992 which was the birth of Star Planet Television studios, which is now Star Planet Television Station, a twenty four hour station on the world wide web.
