Our History . . .

The International Detective and Protective Svc. was established in 1964 as the W. L. Lillard Bureau of Investigation. In 1978 the agency went through the act of transferring the company name from W. L. Lillard B. O. I. and emerged with the name International Detectives and Investigators; because of the redundancy of the words detectives and investigators, finally we settle on our current and final name, International Detective and Protective Service. We secure public and private property.

We have protected some of the largest chain stores in the City of Chicago, including Del-Farm Foods, National Tea Foods, A&P Tea Company Food Stores, Zayre Department Stores and Walgreen Drug Stores.

Currently we are servicing companies such as Halsted Indoor Mall, Crown Realty, Shopping Center, U. S. Equities Shopping Plaza, and other Shopping Plazas, Malls, Construction Sites, Apartment Buildings and Super Markets. Our roster of clients also includes lawyers, politicians and insurance companies

CEO AND FOUNDER - W. L. Lillard has many years of dedicated service in law enforcement; starting in the suburban area as a patrolman. He worked up through the ranks to Captain in the Phoenix, IL PD. Later while working as an investigator in the Cook County Sheriff's Department he was appointed Chief of Police for the Maywood Park District Police Department. He ended his public career in March of 1991 to focus more attention on his businesses including Star Planet Television.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER - Arnett "Mickey" Lillard has over twenty years of experience in the security business. Starting in his fathers business at an early age, he has worked in every aspect of the detective business. Mickey's dedication to security is unmatched by anyone in the company.

CHIEF OF SECURITY-Charles "Chuck" Miller another law enforcement professional, who has been in the business for over thirty years, working himself up through the ranks to Chief of Police for the Maywood Park District Police Department. Chuck is a true professional whose loyalty to the profession can not be questioned.

DIRECTOR OF ELECTRONIC SECURITY - Larry Machaj has over 25 years experience in electronic security, including home and business alarm systems. He is also an authorized Monitronics dealer. Larry Machaj as the owner of D' Joy Alarm Service, a company that provides alarm services to homes and businesses, decided that he could broaden his scope by joining the staff of I.D.P. His passion is to provide jobs by teaching those who are serious, sales techniques and how to install and maintain alarm systems.
